PCC backs tougher action on speeding
When out speaking with local communities, PCC John Campion hears one message again and again: people are worried about road safety.
That’s why he’s continuing to back West Mercia Police with the tools they need to enforce the law and tackle dangerous driving. The latest step is a £50,000 investment in new TruCam speed‑enforcement devices to help crack down on speeding in local areas.
This increases the number of cameras by five to a total of 18, giving officers and PCSOs more capacity to deliver visible, effective enforcement where it matters most.
And because TruCams can be operated by a single officer - with footage uploaded quickly and securely - they also help cut admin and free up more time for policing in communities.
